In 1998 Plastic Welding School recognized the need for plastic welding training in the USA and Canada. Plastic welders have typically learned by following the lead of other welders who have been in the business for years, or simply learn on their own after purchasing plastic welding tools. In the USA and in Canada there are no plastic welding standards for fabricators to follow. Plastic Welding School found a need in the industry for a formal training program on how to weld plastics. We based our program on proven CEN and DVS plastic welding standards coming out of Europe.
Our customers include the US Filter, Metfab, General Motors, University of Maine, JP Plastics, Terracon, US Navy, US Air Force, Pennsylvania Fish and Wildlife, Cedar Springs, Ren Tec, Lyman Morse, and EJ Prescott, to name a few. We have now taken the next step in offering certification to plastic fabricators. In September 2003, Plastic Welding School signed a licensing agreement with TWI Ltd to offer the plastic welding training courses and "CSWIP" examinations in the USA and Canada. Plastic welding professionals in the USA and Canada can now go through a well founded and proven training scheme that is recognized all over the world.
Administered by TWI Examinations Ltd, the CSWIP program includes classroom work, practical welding and testing according to the CEN European Plastic Welding Standards for hot gas, extrusion, socket fusion, electrofusion and wedge welding methods.

US PLASTIC WELDING STANDARDS ARE COMING:
The American Welding Society (AWS) has recently formed a standards committee on plastic welding and began the process of looking at the European Plastic Welding Standards in an effort to establish US plastic welding standards. So why not get a jump start on your competition, learn about these standards and become certified in plastic welding fabrication based on the European plastic welding standards for the plastic fabricator. It is the goal of Plastic Welding School LLC to be the leader in an effort to certify plastic fabricators and assist AWS as they move forward in their efforts to establish Plastic welding standards in the USA.
