| Course content: Introduction to common thermoplastics (PVC, PP, PE, PVDF); common processing techniques; weld symbols; joint preparation (including hand tools); defects and how to avoid them; process control; inspection and testing; health and safety; theoretical and practical welding examination (CSWIP PW-6-96).

| Suitable for: Individuals with significant experience in the examination categories selected. Candidates must have either: completed an apprenticeship as a plastics fabricator, or undergone a CSWIP-approved welding course, followed by at least six months of on-the-job training supervised by a welder with a certificate in the relevant welding technique (fast track route), or a minimum of two years proven welding experience in the chosen category. Candidate eligibility will be assessed at the examination application stage. The course, which has a 3-day duration, consists of two days training followed by a one-day examination. The examination itself consists of a theory session to enable the candidates to take the multiple-choice theory paper, followed by a practical examination in the chosen category or categories. The examination will be conducted by an examiner from Englandand an examiner from PWS. |

| Objectives: Achieve a minimum level of theoretical knowledge and practical competence in one or more welding categories, in accordance with the European Standard EN 13067. Requirements for the Certification of Plastics Welders (Document No CSWIP-PW-6-96 3rd Edition January 2003). |

Fees: The course can be held at customer’s facility or any of the PWS facilities. $2250.00 US Dollars per day. Plus a per student TWI fee of $295, plus the TWI category fee, plus per diem of $125/day, plus travel at $1.25/mile, plushotel expenses for both examiners, plus air fare for the examiner from England. Minimum of 3 students.
Maximum number of students is 8. Customer pays for plastic materials used in the course. Tools used for training can be customers own tools or PWS LLC. will provide the tools if needed. When travel time is longer then 3 hours from PWS the customer will be required to pay $300 per day for travel time. |
